Since the final year in high school represents the culmination of many efforts, achievements, and sometimes sacrifices, I know that you will want to join us in making this one of the most meaningful years in the life of your student. Many of the important events covered center around graduation and commencement activities. Listed below is a schedule of these activities. |

- Admission is free. No tickets required, but "first come,
first serve." Please note that no more than 10 seats can be marked saved per family name.

From I-45 south, exit 61st Street. Right
on 61st Street and again on Stewart. Stewart will Y-off, take
the right Y. The street is now named Jones Drive. Then turn right
into the Moody Gardens Complex.

SENIOR YEARBOOK DEADLINES

SENIOR PORTRAITS |
August 17, 18, 19 (12-8pm), 20 (12-6pm) & 25, 26, 27 (4-8pm) at Friendswood High School. Chadwick Photography will be taking all senior portraits for the yearbook. Make your appointment at the time you pick up your packet. A studio will be set up on our campus for these days. No money is needed at the time you take your pictures. All proofs will be posted on Chadwick Photography’s website www.chadwickphoto.com. Pictures must be made with Chadwick Photography for the yearbook. Having all seniors’ pictures made by one photographer insures the same lighting background, which is essential for yearbook purposes. There will be cap & gown photos taken of each senior. Caps and gowns for the pictures will be provided by Chadwick Photography. Portraits are not full length.
Girls should wear a nice blouse or a dressy top (tops must cover all undergarments).
Boys should wear a starched dress shirt and a tie (a suit or sports coat if possible).
Things to remember: Don’t forget to bring your senior ring and letterman jacket (photos will be taken with each for those who bring them), Chadwick Photography will have extra ties available, please only sign up for an appointment time you are able to make. Chadwick Photography will be back at Friendswood High School for retakes on September 15 & 16 (4-8pm), October 13-14 (4-8pm), November 10-11 (4-8pm). You may retake as many times as you would like. If you want your student’s picture in the yearbook, it must be taken by Chadwick Photography. You may select which picture (proof number required) and turn into Mrs. Hartzell (room 419) by December 10, 2010. No exceptions can be made.
Chadwick Photography will also be taking Fall Sports Pictures (dates and times will be given to each team). |
| DIPLOMAS |
Diplomas: Seniors must complete the order form in your packet for a diploma. Please remember that your diploma is a legal document; therefore, you should use your full legal name. Talk to your parents about your decision. Turn your order form in during registration. Diplomas are not automatically ordered. There is no cost to the student.

| CAPS AND GOWNS |
Caps and Gowns: Seniors will place their order for caps and gowns on the day of registration. The cost of the class stole, cap and gown is $47.50 (tax included). This amount is due when the order for the cap and gown is placed. This amount covers a souvenir class stole, cap and tassel in addition to the rented gown. Additional tassels are $10.00 each. Honor Cords can be purchased for $10.00 on Wednesday, May 4, when you pick up your stole, cap and gown. |

**Blue and White honor cords for honor graduates will be available for purchase after the top 10 percent of the senior class has been announced. The same will apply for the hoods for the Valedictorian and the Salutatorian.

| SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS |
Senior Announcements: Seniors should order commencement announcements and personal cards during registration. Any number of announcements may be ordered. Personal cards are in lots of 50 and the cost is $20.00 for the first 50 and $4.00 for the second 50. The announcements cost $0.96 each. A deposit of $100 must be made at the time the order is placed. A Photo Announcement Gift is $12.00; Appreciation Gifts are $29.00; Memory Books are between $30.00 and $38.00; and Thank-You Notes, $13.00 for 25. Order forms are in your senior packet; samples will be available at registration for viewing. Please make checks payable to the Balfour Company.

IMPORTANT DATES |
September 1, Wednesday - Senior Panoramic Picture: The senior class will have a panoramic group picture taken during Homeroom. Band @ 8:00am.
October 29, Friday: Deadline for Senior yearbook ads (Ad space is limited; this deadline does not insure space).
December 10, Friday: Deadline for Seniors to select picture for yearbook. If not chosen by this date Chadwicks will make the choice.
March 9, Wednesday, Lunch: Announcements and personal cards will be delivered by Balfour. Balance must be paid at that time. Please refer to your receipt for your student’s balance.
May 4, Wednesday, Lunch: The stoles, caps & gowns will be issued during lunch on this date. Honor cords may be purchased on this date for $10.00.
May 15, Sunday: Baccalaureate will begin at 3:00pm in the Auditorium. Seniors should report to the Girls Gym at 2:00pm for the 2011 Class and Twelve (12) Year Senior pictures, in your cap & gown.
May 19, Thursday: Rehearsal for the commencement exercises will be held in the Auditorium during an assembly schedule. All seniors must be present if they plan to participate in the commencement exercises. This is a very important date; please mark it on your calendar today. DO NOT plan to attend college orientation on this date.
May 30, Monday 2:00pm: Commencement exercises—seniors should report to the graduation site by 12:30pm. Graduation will be held at Moody Gardens unless we are cancelled. Moody Gardens has the option of canceling this agreement up until November 30, 2010.
